I didn't get a PBN kit, I got a paint tray. I love that it keeps my little paint pots steady while I work. The plastic is a little flimsy, so don't press the covers onto the pots while they're in the tray, or it could snap.

The problem is that the 48 colour version is not at all the same as the photo. It didn’t have the detail that made it look good. I did another one of hydrangeas that really popped. I vent finished the lilacs but definitely disappointed.

This is my second one to paint. I used the kit with 48 colors. I do think my painting skills have improved. This took me about 2 months to finish painting 3 or 4 days a week. I plan to frame it and hang it in my office at work, which has no windows. Looking forward to picking out another one to do.

I really enjoyed doing this! I’m just doing some finishing touches but it’s basically complete. There is instant gratification with every filled in cell. My sister has also been eyeing my project and thinking about doing one herself. If I were to do another one (which I probably will one day), I’d probably be more generous with paint application. I was too sparing, which made me have to do a lot of second coats. I also wouldn’t be so careful about staying in the lines in parts of the painting that didn’t really need careful attention to detail. I was probably too careful in areas that didn’t need it, which consumed more time than necessary. But all in all, I loved doing this!
